doh!

I meant hangover FREE in my last post, LOL!

Today I chatted on the phone with Kelly M., a woman in the Program who gave me her phone number a while back and keeps urging me to call her. Boy that phone is heavy. But I was glad that I did it in the end. I'm thinking I might ask her to sponsor me. She's got twenty years sobriety and a great sense of humor and is very easy to talk to. I'm just afraid she is probably in high demand as a sponsor.

If she's in high demand as a sponsor, maybe you should ask her.
If she's not in high demand as a sponsor, maybe you should ask her.

I am glad that you did not drink when you had your dinner with your close friends (last post). Of course, what matters most is that you should feel good about it.

You know you can even express what you expressed here to the possible "future sponsor." Be honest, she may surprise you.

After many years of working the program my phone now only weighs 200 pounds(-:
Oh yeah, ASK HER, if she has to say no its not the end of the world.

Defintely ask her. It may be one reason she keeps urging you to call her.

I know about that heavy phone, too. The only person I call regularly is my sponsor, and half the time, I'm hoping I'll just get her answering machine (and I'm only calling her regularly because she wants me to call her every day). I think this is a common trait for us alkies. We tend to isolate, and that includes the phone. Heck, I never liked having to pick up the phone even BEFORE I started drinking!
